Deck Review

Be hole, be dust, be dream, be wind/Be night, be dark, be wish, be mind, /Now slip, now slide, now move unseen,/Above, beneath, betwixt, between. ― Neil Gaiman

Llewellyn sent me this awesome deck. Thank you!

First of all, I didn’t expect to like this deck. From looking at pics on the internet, it seemed like a high fantasy kind of deck, with bosomy women and strapping men. Barf. What it is, upon closer inspection, is just lovely. There is some bosom, true, but it’s not like those books that annoyed me so much. We see women in positions of strength and men who are gentle. I fucking love it.
There are queer folks and people of color (and queer people of color). Old folks and young. I really enjoyed how happy some of the characters looked. It was so refreshing to see big grins on faces, and people acting silly in the tarot.
The cardstock is thin. I’m kind of disappointed, as I won’t be able to use it as long as I’d like. It does shuffle well, but still.
I would still, absolutely, recommend this deck. It’s a joy to read.
