I’ve been doing a lot of readings lately that have some common themes, so since we’re all in this together, this month I’m going to share my findings with all of you.
Also – here is stuff I’ve been up to!
The Scorpio Sea tarot is now out in the wild! Maggie is doing 78 days of tarot on her facebook and Instagram if you want an in depth look at what each card means to her. I’m not selling these in my shop, but you can get them wherever awesome books are sold.
As soon as I get copies of Kitchen Table Magic, I’m going to have a raffle on my website. $5 to enter and receive a signed copy of both KTM and the Scorpio Sea. All proceeds will go to a friend who needs a hand up after major surgery and is still in recovery mode. I’ll post info about it when we’re ready.
Kitchen Table Gathering is available! This is an online event where we’ll discuss self-care during readings, how to make a protective witch bottle, and the spiritual side of readings. It’s a two day conference, and since corona is spoiling our travel plans, I’ve moved it all online. You’ll have the recordings forever. 🙂
**Ya gotta have faith**
This week, we’re going to talk about faith. Lots of folks are looking for spiritual stability and community, and that’s super hard right now without putting yourself in danger.
Some folks are looking for a new spiritual path because the one that they had in their childhood doesn’t serve them anymore (Hi. It’s me.) Some are looking because they’re lonely. Some are just….you know, looking.
Faith doesn’t have to have anything to do with religion. It has to do with finding a community of folks who share the same moral compass as you do. There is a test called the Belief-O-Matic that asks questions about your faith structure and then matches you to major world religions to see what your most ideal match would be.
I took the test again and came up with almost the same results I got 16 years ago when I took it the first time. This test found me the Unitarian Universalist church, a place that is welcoming, diverse, and prays with their boots on the ground. If you are feeling lonely, I recommend that you give the Belief-O-Matic a spin.
Here are my results
And I was raised Catholic? Ok. Nice to see that Sister Rita Mary really left a mark on me. That 5% is still hanging on.
Since we’re all in the midst of this corona stuff, it’s a great time to check out places online.
I think that our collective loneliness has become pervasive and seems impossible to fix. Even if god is not the focus of your faith, there are communities out there for you. Loneliness is one of the most destructive forces that exists. I see it all the time in the readings I do. There is a strength that comes from sharing space with people who have their moral compasses pointed the same direction as yours. Find that strength, if you need it.
If you don’t need it, please don’t email me to tell me all about it. 😀 Just go about your business.
Next week, we’ll talk about Money. Gah.
