Blessed is he who has learned to admire but not envy, to follow but not imitate, to praise but not flatter, and to lead but not manipulate. -William Arthur Ward

Wrapping things up at the Northwest Tarot Symposium.  This was the first year of NeWTS, and I have to say, it was fantastic.  Of course, this was my first conference, so I might be biased.

I got to learn and talk to some of the people whose books and writings helped me learn how to read tarot.  James Wanless, Barbara Moore, Carrie Freakin Paris, Mark Ryan, Jaymi Elford, Gina Thies, and many more.  This was such a great experience for me.

One of my favorite parts, though, was meeting my peers.  Those who came up in the trenches with me.  Particularly Ms. Little Red Tarot, herself -Beth Maiden.  What a cool, gracious, smart and funny woman.  I’m so glad to have met her, and I love that she’s typing away on the other bed in our hotel room and has NO IDEA that I’m gushing about her.  😀

I got to spend some time talking to Carrie Paris, developed a healthy crush on James Wanless, and became brave and introduced myself and hugged Barbara Moore.  I have new direction and ideas for my readings and my business, and I made a lot of new friends.

Portland, I love you.  NeWTS- I’ll be back.  People who gave me their time and wisdom this weekend – I appreciate you.

Family and St. Louis – I’ll see you tomorrow, sweethearts.
