Temperance – She Talks to Angels – The Black Crowes
I’ve had Suzi Dronzek (Starcana) featured on here a few times. Partially because she really knows what she’s talking about, and partially because she makes me laugh my ass off. 😀 I love fellow Sagittarian’s and she flipping kills me. I’ll let Suzi take it from here.
“The song that immediately comes to mind in relation to Temperance (which is a card that rules Sagittarius) is “She Talks to Angels” by the Black Crowes. This tune reminds me of earlier years, when I lived like a gypsy, hanging out in a few states, while always traveling alone. “Yes, she’ll tell you she’s an orphan, after you meet her family”. Like the card, I learned how to rely solely on myself and my higher resources to get by, while creating genuine connections with so many different types of people. All was in moderation, as I savored the simple things in life. Creativity and flexibility (as in Temperance) taught me how to accept the good with the bad..how to make the best out of a bad situation…while holding onto nothing. And “to make everything alright“, I talked to angels, god, strangers and their families, along with sympathetic bartenders (my angels in disguise)…who may still “remember my name”.
My choice for Temperance? A long walk by Jill Scott. Here are some lyrics:
Your background it ain’t squeaky clean (shit)
Sometimes we all got to swim upstream
You ain’t no saint, we all are sinners
But you put your good foot down and make your soul a winner
Sometimes, you put your foot down in water, sometimes on land, sometimes in a big pile of shit. BUT, you find that balance again. That’s the important part to Temperance. Balance. Mind/Body/Spirit. Let’s take a long walk around the park after dark….and find out what will keep us sane.
