Theresa Reed tackled the Moon.

The Killing Moon by Echo and the Bunnymen. This song has always been a favorite one of mine. The music has a mysterious feel to it and the singing is moody and full of feeling – perfect for the The Moon! The lyrics create the perfect backdrop for a night of mystery and illusion:

In starlit nights I saw you
So cruelly you kissed me
Your lips a magic world
Your sky all hung with jewels
The killing moon
Will come too soon

My take on the Moon card is Turpentine by  Brandi Carlile.  In the song, she is stuck in the past.  She’s wasting her time, she’s not sleeping, reality keeps sneaking up on her.  There is a distinct difference between what’s going on in her head and what’s going on in reality.  She’s disconnected and floating.  The Moon card is about anxiety, being insecure and confused.  You’re not in Kansas anymore, things have changed.  The key is to take a deep breath and try to reconcile what’s in your head with what’s going on around you.

These days we go to waste like wine
That’s turned to turpentine
It’s six AM and I’m all messed up
I didn’t mean to waste your time
So I’ll fall back in line
But I’m warning you we’re growing up
