You seem intense, pal.
You seem intense, pal.

I was supposed to have lunch with a friend today. My kid woke up sick, however, and then I noticed that I also felt like garbage. I was supposed to do an email reading this morning and schedule maintenance on my car, and do laundry.

What I did, though, was take a nap. It was a good nap, and I feel better and better able to do the things I need to do.

When you do readings, your energy level is important. When you feel better, you give better readings. It’s common sense. This counts for being spiritually and emotionally tired, as well, not just physically ill.

I always try to touch base with myself before readings. Am I calm? Am i ready to do this? Am I wholly present? If I don’t need a nap (and naps are totally the best) here are a few things I can do to get focused:

  • Drink tea
  • Light incense or a candle
  • Use some breathing exercises
  • Meditate
  • Go for a short walk.
  • Dance

Remember if you’re good to yourself, it will show in your readings! Self-care is the best middle finger in the world.
