The Devil #tarotmixtapeplaylist #tarot

The Devil card – one of the tarot card whose raw meaning is even worse than the oogie-boogie devil featured on most cards. Hopeless.  Chained.  Addicted.  Yikes. Theresa Reed is our first guest DJ for the Devil. AntiChrist Superstar by Marilyn Manson. How can you NOT think of Marilyn Manson when you think of The Devil? I’ll never forget the first time I saw them – my husband’s band was opening up for them. And when I saw the poster, my first thought was “Oooh goody – these guys are fucked up! My kinda band!” They were crass, dirty, outrageous, …

Today is about letting go. Enough with standing still and wading through obstacles. Break through and make it happen. -Zaheroux

I found a new deck!  On Etsy, of all places.  Who would have guessed that you can get knitted Jayne hats and tarot decks from the same place?  Nice.  Anyway, it’s a black and white deck, which I’ve never used before.  I was concerned about that, but the pictures were so engaging, I thought I’d give it a shot.  The cards are big.  They’re not *too* big, but almost.  The card stock is good and they feel good in my hands.  I gave one reading to a friend, and it was fantastic.  The komodo dragon came up to represent her …

Temperance #tarotmixtapeplaylist #tarot

Temperance – She Talks to Angels – The Black Crowes I’ve had Suzi Dronzek (Starcana) featured on here a few times.  Partially because she really knows what she’s talking about, and partially because she makes me laugh my ass off.  😀  I love fellow Sagittarian’s and she flipping kills me.  I’ll let Suzi take it from here. “The song that immediately comes to mind in relation to Temperance (which is a card that rules Sagittarius) is “She Talks to Angels” by the Black Crowes.  This tune reminds me of earlier years, when I lived like a gypsy, hanging out in …

A lie can travel around the world and back again while the truth is lacing up its boots. – Mark Twain

I had a reading a few months ago that has stuck in my brain.  In order to dislodge it, I’m going to write about it. The woman who called had a great relationship.  Perfect partner, wants to get married, loves her partner SO SO much.  Except, the sex life is not so good. And also?  She’s been seeing her ex-girlfriend in a purely platonic way at outings with friends, and the sex life in THAT relationship was amazing. The relationship was terrible, but the sex was great.  SO, would it be bad if she had sex with the ex- and …

Death #tarotmixtapeplaylist #tarot

The guest DJ’s for the Death Card are Catherine Chapman and Valerie Sylvester!  Thanks, Ladies. From Valerie:  Long White Cadillac – the Blasters I chose this song for the Death card because of the urgency, the mystery, the imagery, the feeling of being propelled into unknown circumstances, and the idea of “summing up” or mulling over the events of your life–just as you’re leaving it. It helps to know that this song is dedicated to country music legend Hank Williams, who died in the back seat of his new Cadillac sometime between the last day of December and the first …

We are our own dragons as well as our own heroes, and we have to rescue ourselves from ourselves. – Tom Robbins

SO, I’m tooling around on kickstarter, like you do, and what should I find but an awesome new shiny tarot deck!  After some quick negotiation with my partner (Babe, pleeeeeease??? THANK YOU!) I got the cards.  This is the Hirajeta tarot – named after the brilliant artist, Danny Hirajeta from Iron Clown Studios.   Check this out:    I did four readings the night I got my deck – they were fantastic.  They were brave and hard and we so easy to read.  I didn’t like the pips at first – the minors.  They’re kind of repetitive.  BUT after using …
